Life in Sejong

Open green space in the center of Sejong will be used for community activities and relaxation. the green space will be surrounded by museums, libraries, art galleries, and concert halls.


Sejong plans to achieve a renewable energy utilization rate of 15% and a 70% reduction of carbon emissions by 2030.

With its plentiful parks and use of renewable energy, Sejong will be one of the greenest cities in the world. Though its Bus Rapid Transit System and innovative public transportation network, Sejong will have fewer cars on the road, yet will provide its citizens with better access to the city. A 220 mile bike path will be constructed and 40 million trees will be planted throughout the city.

each of the 22 communities will have a community center which accommodates a fire station, library, clinic and a sports facility. All of Sejong’s facilities will meet the highest accessibility standards to accommodate people with disabilities.

Spot Light
The City is named after King Sejong who profoundly impacted Korean history with the introduction of Hangul, the alphabet system of the Korean language and technological advances during his reign in the 15th century.
